  • Marc S. Bayram, PGA

    Marc Bayram became the Head Golf Professional at Timberlin in 2011 and is a Class-A PGA Member with extensive experience teaching and coaching. He is a New Britain native and graduated from Saint Leo University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. While attending Saint Leo on a Golf Scholarship, he started 4 years for the top 25 Division II program in the Sunshine State Conference. Marc also represented the Golf Team for 3 years serving on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee for the University.

    He began his teaching career as an Assistant Golf Professional at Plantation Palms Golf Club in Land O’ Lakes, Florida. While at Plantation Palms, Marc also served as the Head Golf Coach for the Sunlake High School Boys Golf Team, as well as the Assistant Golf Coach for both the Saint Leo University Men’s & Women’s Golf Programs.

    In 2008, he continued his career as an Assistant Golf Professional at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington, CT. At Shuttle Meadow, he assisted in developing a junior program of over 100 participants and helped earned his mentor, Tim Gavronski, the CT Section PGA Junior Golf Leader Award in 2009. Marc’s vast knowledge of the game and friendly demeanor makes golf instruction enjoyable and beneficial for all of his students.

    Marc has devoted his professional career to the PGA of America and the growth of the game of golf. He has been an active participant in PGA programs such as Free Lesson Month, Play Golf America Day, and Patriot Golf Day. Marc also currently serves as a mentor and open line of communication to Saint Leo University students looking to become PGA Golf Professionals.

    In 2015, Marc was chosen by his peers as the winner of the CT Section PGA Youth Player Development Award given to a Golf Professional who is a leader in junior golf and who reflects the ideals of those who work with youth.

    Marc’s playing achievements include finishing runner up in the 2018 CT PGA Championship with rounds of 68-67. He is a 3-time member of the CT Section PGA Julius Boros Challenge Cup team representing the PGA Section as one of it’s premier players. In May of 2017, Marc tied for 1st place in the CT PGA Spring Stroke Play Championship, shooting 72-73, eventually losing in a sudden death playoff for an exemption in to the 2017 Travelers Championship.

    As Head Golf Professional at Timberlin Golf Club, Marc’s goal is to create an atmosphere that allows patrons to feel proud to call Timberlin home.

    He resides in Berlin, CT with sons Marc & Max.

    Brandon Funari is an entry level Assistant Golf Professional. He was born and raised in Berlin, CT and has been a fixture at Timberlin since he was 11 years old. He graduated from Berlin High School in 2017 and while at Berlin High School, he was a member of the golf team all 4 years. He was All Herald and All Conference his Sophomore, Junior, and Senior seasons at BHS. In 2017, he came in 4th individually at the CIAC Division II State Tournament and Berlin finished 2nd as a team that year. Brandon will be available for private lessons and will also be conducting the Junior and Adult group programs at Timberlin. He is excited to continue to be a part of the Timberlin family and looking forward to a great season.

    Geno Giancola is a PGA Level 1 Assistant Golf Professional. He was born and raised in CT and is the son of CT golf legend Kevin Giancola. He has been coaching at Timberlin since 2015. He graduated from Southington High School in 2012. Geno is quite the accomplished player with dreams of someday playing in the U.S. Open. His playing accomplishments are listed below:

    • Started playing at 13 years old was a scratch golfer by the age of 16
    • At the age of 18 got into the Monday qualifier for the Travelers Championship

    2016
